Fully occupied community hall at the seniors’ birthday – Burghausen has a lot to offer seniors
Hardly a chair was left unoccupied at the city of Burghausen's senior birthday party for the first quarter of 2024. “It’s wonderful to come together and celebrate together. “It’s a lot more fun that way,” said senior speaker Heinz Donner, addressing the guests. “If you have any suggestions or requests, please feel free to contact me or one of the mayors.”
First Mayor Florian Schneider also welcomed the approximately 150 guests in the festively decorated community hall: “I wish you a happy birthday and a nice afternoon!” After coffee and cake were served and the seniors had chatted for a while, the First Mayor showed a few historical pictures: from the 2004 State Garden Show, from the large lake festivals at Wöhrsee or from past performances of the Helmbrecht epic. Many of the pictures shown sent a murmur through the rows because they brought back memories for the seniors.
After his presentation, the city leader pointed out a few events: A Review of the State Garden Show on April 23, 2024 in the Citizens' Hall Seniors' afternoon at the May Oktoberfest on May 6, 2024 from 14 p.m. and the current one Special exhibition in the city museum “The Wöhrsee – more than just a swimming lake”. On the city website at Seniors – City of Burghausen Seniors will also find many other references to leisure activities.
Four times a year, the first mayor and senior citizen representative Heinz Donner invite people to senior citizens’ birthdays. All seniors aged 65 and over who are celebrating a milestone birthday in the respective quarter are always invited. Every birthday from the age of 90 is celebrated. The invitation was sent in writing by the mayor's office.
