The community center has existed since 1997. Since then, the building with its large glass windows has played an important role as a cultural and event location in Burghausen: for festivals, theater performances and concerts or for congresses, workshops and seminars.
The community center sees itself as a place for everyone: for young and old, as well as for clubs, companies and institutions.
Not only the community center itself is a place of culture, but the entire area around the building.
In front of the Bürgerhaus is the Bürgerplatz, which is often the setting for concerts. Behind the community center is the city park, which was redesigned for the State Garden Show in 2004 and has since been frequently referred to as Burghausen's living room.
