The city of Burghausen is very committed to helping its older residents. Since every phase of life is characterized by special needs and requirements, the city of Burghausen tries to recognize and respond to the challenges and opportunities that demographic change brings with it. She would like to offer this population group as diverse a range of services as possible.

The city of Burghausen takes into account that senior citizens are more agile and active than ever before: they do sports together, do voluntary work, travel. As diverse as the interests of Burghausen's senior citizens are, the range of leisure activities that the city of Burghausen offers its older residents is just as varied and appealing.

But even in the case of illness and care, the city of Burghausen wants to stand by the elderly.

It is therefore very important to her to support all senior citizens in Burghausen with important information. It spans a wide range - from leisure activities for senior citizens, to culture, mobility, living in old age, accessibility, health to care, illness and the end of life.

The city is supported by the Burghauser Working Group for Senior Citizens. The working group sees itself as a point of contact for suggestions for improvement. To this end, those responsible work closely with the senior citizens' officer of the city of Burghausen. In addition, the Senior Citizens' Working Group organizes information events that revolve around crime prevention or road safety, for example.

“If the young people of today occasionally think that they are the old masters of tomorrow, then we have arrived at togetherness."
