Sustainability as a big bracket with the topics of environment, mobility, hydrogen, conversion of industry, social interaction, the future of the old and new town, living, living, working and enjoying! As the first mayor of the city of Burghausen, Florian Schneider (SPD) has specific ideas about how he wants to make the "most beautiful city in the world" even more lovable and livable than before.

For the native of Burghausen, Burghausen shines far beyond the regional borders with its cosmopolitan character and its versatility. As the engine of the district and as the third largest chemical location in Germany with more than 18.000 jobs, the city brings prosperity and quality of life to the region. Economically, culturally and athletically, the city sets high points year after year with its numerous clubs and a committed citizenry.

So that Burghausen "always remains something special, that the unique quality of life is preserved and that the unbelievable social, cultural and sporting leisure activities can continue to exist, as mayor I will make the city economically strong, innovative and sustainable, keep it young - and the citizens for win those goals".

In order to reach them all, Schneider emphasizes listening, involving, deciding and implementing. A sustainable mobility concept can only be realized if there are sufficient cycle paths and regularly scheduled e-city buses.

Sustainability can only be achieved if the city of Burghausen formulates concrete climate goals and also consistently strives for them. Social coexistence can only be realized if the urban community and clubs are promoted and continuously expand their offers.

For all of these goals, Schneider consciously relies on the citizens of Burghausen: Whether citizen participation or mayor's consultation hours - Burghausen's First Mayor offers platforms and opportunities for citizens to express their own ideas and opinions and to get actively involved. “I want to be approachable – for everyone. Here in Burghausen, everyone can play their part in making our city as livable as it has been up until now.”

Schneider lives with his wife Sabina and his two daughters Katharina and Franziska in the old town of Burghausen. After graduating from high school, he studied business administration in Rosenheim. Before he was elected mayor, Schneider was the managing director of the medium-sized electronics company Kreutzpointner in Burghausen.

"Together with the citizens, I want to make Burghausen sustainable - innovative, climate-neutral, economically and culturally strong - and above all with this unique Burghausen flair and social cohesion."
