The Studienkirche St. Josef is an early baroque church in the old town of Burghausen. Since 2012 the church has been used as an exhibition space for contemporary art.
The interior of the pillar church of the former Jesuit college, with its enormous size, is the perfect place to exhibit larger and space-consuming sculptures and installations and to make them accessible to viewers from all sides.
The special acoustics, which go hand in hand with the size of the room and the architecture, invite musical experiments and offer sound sculptures an extraordinary opportunity to develop.
From mid-March to early November, changing exhibitions invite international artists to observe, experience and reflect.
