Cyclists in the old town © Stadt Burghausen

The city of Burghausen set up a steering committee in September 2020. The steering committee consists of 21 people from the city council, various associations and interest groups plus three Burghausen citizens.

The steering committee is to develop individual, traffic-related solutions in the city of Burghausen. The basis for the work of the committee is a traffic report from 2020 and a cyclist survey, which also took place in 2020. The city of Burghausen expects concrete proposals for action from the steering committee, which has an advisory function. The steering committee presents the results to the city council.

So far, the steering committee has established the topic of cycle paths and footpaths and developed improvements to them, including for the Berchtesgadener/Unghauser Strasse intersection and for Mozartstrasse.

Three places are reserved for Burghausen citizens in the steering committee. A total of 28 citizens applied for the steering committee. The committee was founded on the basis of a city council resolution.
