Concert in the Aula Major © Gerhard Nixdorf

The large auditorium of the Burghausen Kurfürst-Maximilian-Gymnasium is a baroque gem with a design from the early 18th century. It is the former congregation hall of the Jesuits and stands in the tradition of Jesuit educational work.

There are very few halls of this kind in Germany. There has been an organ in the hall since 1985, which was extensively renovated in 1993/94.

Without exception, all artists who perform in the large auditorium of the Kurfürst-Maximilians-Gymnasium are enthusiastic about the acoustics in this hall. The Burghauser Kulturbüro regularly gets exuberant feedback from them after the concerts.
