In Burghausen there are a number of festivals, especially in summer, which could not be more different and enrich life in Burghausen.
The traditional Maiwiesn, a folk festival with many rides, booths and a large marquee, starts in May. In July, the nationally known castle festival takes place at Burghausen Castle, which attracts many onlookers to Burghauen to experience the historical ambience. The Bridge Festival also takes place every two years in August. During this festival, the bond and friendship between Burghausen and the neighboring Austrian town of Ach are celebrated.
