The city of Burghausen would like to offer all its residents the best possible living conditions. For this reason, it takes many measures to make the city as barrier-free as possible.

In order to cover all the needs of people with disabilities, among others, the city of Burghausen has two Disability Officer. Residents can turn to her if they have suggestions or requests that would make their everyday life in Burghausen easier.

In addition, the city of Burghausen tries to create accessibility where it is helpful and useful: For example, during the renovation of Burgkirchner Straße, it had blind crossings set up. Numerous apartments on Burgkirchner Straße are also barrier-free and make life in the apartments easier for people with disabilities.

The city of Burghausen also wants to address its residents on the homepage as barrier-free as possible. Plain language should enable all readers of the pages to understand and use the advice, service, service and leisure offers of the city well.

In a recent study, the VdK Burghausen certifies that the city of Burghausen is exceptionally barrier-free - partly because all municipal properties are barrier-free.

Since Burghausen has a historical history that goes back more than 500 years, accessibility cannot be achieved everywhere in the city. Especially in the old town and on the grounds of the castle there are various barriers that Burghausen cannot dismantle. The ensemble is under strict monument protection, which does not permit certain interventions.
