Carpenter at work © Gerhard Nixdorf

General Information

The Burghausen town joinery has a wide range of tasks.

The carpenter's shop prepares, repairs and maintains market stalls, benches, railings and playground equipment. The carpentry workshop also takes care of the construction and maintenance of the wooden bridges, including those on the Wöhrsee and the Salzach.

It also builds ramps for wheelchairs and thus ensures barrier-free access to events in the city. The town carpenter's shop repeatedly produces individual pieces of furniture for municipal facilities.

The carpentry workshop helps with the implementation of the projects for campaigns by the environmental agency. For example, she makes parts for nesting boxes to assemble.

The city carpentry supports the caretakers of the city facilities. She helps when there are moves or transports from offices or cultural institutions. The city also relies on the help of the carpenter's workshop when it comes to transporting art objects from or for the Burghausen museums and exhibition venues.

If there are art and photo exhibitions in the St. Josef study church in Burghausen's old town or in the House of Photography in the castle, the carpentry shop also provides active support.
