General Information

The Burghausen Environment Agency takes care of environmental protection and nature conservation in the city of Burghausen. This includes the maintenance of urban green areas and facilities, tree and forest care, flood protection and the preservation of the Wöhrsee natural area. To this end, the environmental agency is cooperating with the gardeners of the city of Burghausen.

The team from the environmental agency is also responsible for monitoring air quality, expanding the network of cycle paths and advising the population on energy.

In addition to the tasks that arise, the employees of the environmental agency also set up a wide range of projects that are aimed at interested residents of Burghausen and involve them. These include projects such as “Burghausen is changing. The world." or cattle grazing in Raitenhaslach.

The Environment Agency sees itself as a partner of the Burghausen day-care centers and schools in the area of ​​environment and nature conservation. The environmental agency addresses the children and young people of the city of Burghausen individually with campaigns and excursions on various aspects of nature and environmental protection.

Another field of activity of the Burghausen Environment Agency is the area of ​​leisure, sports and games. The employees of the Environment Agency oversee the development and planning of children's playgrounds and leisure facilities such as the Motorikpark in Lindach or the Mühlenpark on Tittmoninger Straße.

Every year, the Burghausen Environment Agency offers two school graduates the opportunity to do a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) with the city. The tasks of the so-called FÖJ'ler include caring for the goats, cooperation with the Burghausen schools and day-care centers on all aspects of environmental education, the action days and much more.
