The Marienberg power station is a small hydroelectric power station in the Scheuerhof district of Burghausen. Because of the special view of the Marienberg pilgrimage church from the plant, the power plant was given the name Marienberg power plant.
The power plant was built in 1892 and supplied the city of Burghausen with electrical energy. After the flood in 1897, today's power station building was erected. The historic machines are still running in the machine house. They generate 35 kW, which is fed into the public grid.

The Marienberg hydroelectric power station is owned and operated by the city of Burghausen and is listed as a monument.

In the machine room and the two floors of the power plant building, visitors to the small museum will find exhibition rooms with several thousand exhibits. They show everything that has been or is being done with the electricity generated by the system - for example objects of lighting and installation technology as well as household and audio equipment.

The museum was set up by Wolfgang Hopfgartner, local home caretaker of the Burghausen district of Raitenhaslach.
