General Information

The building construction department of the city of Burghausen consists of the building construction department and building management.

As a municipal service provider, the building construction department is responsible for the planning and implementation of construction measures. The structural engineering department is also responsible for the maintenance of all urban high-rise buildings and buildings for which there are contractual obligations in this regard.
Specifically, it is about new construction, conversion and extension measures, conversions, conversions, repairs, fire protection measures, renovations and modernization of municipal buildings.

The construction projects are either carried out under our own responsibility or architectural and engineering offices are commissioned with the structural implementation. In this case, the structural engineering department assumes the task of project management.

As the client, the building authority acts as client representative and also monitors deadlines and costs. The building construction department is also responsible for determining the basics for various tenders and the professional execution of construction work.

The building management oversees, manages and maintains around 80 buildings in the city, including:

  • school-building
  • Kindergartens, crèches and day-care centers
  • Sports and gymnasiums, including the Wacker Stadium
  • Burghausen and Raitenhaslach fire stations
  • Administration building
  • Urban residential buildings
  • social building
  • Youth buildings and youth hostels
  • Churches such as the monastery church of St. Anna, St. Joseph's Church, the Holy Cross Church
  • Museums, eg the Photo Museum and the City Museum
  • Public toilet facilities

Tasks include:

  •  the maintenance and the organization of the tests of, for example, smoke detection, ventilation, electrical, elevator, fire alarm, boiler and sprinkler systems in the municipal buildings.
  • the recording, processing and settlement of insurance damage to municipal buildings such as broken glass, graffiti, burst water pipes and structural damage caused by burglaries.
  • the organization of our own as well as external cleaning staff and the caretaker in the respective municipal properties.
  • the monitoring and evaluation of consumption data (gas, oil, electricity, water).
