The Burghauser Kulturbüro participates in the "KulturPass" initiative of the German Bundestag. The federal government's offer, which was initiated by the Minister of State for Culture and Media, Claudia Roth, and Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner, among others, is aimed at all young people who will be celebrating their 2023th birthday in 18. They receive a budget of 200 euros that they can use for tickets, books, CDs, records and much more.
"We want to get young people excited about the diversity of culture in our country," explains Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth. Culture should be easy to experience on site. At the same time, the KulturPass strengthens demand among culture enthusiasts.
For cultural events in Burghausen, 18-year-olds, i.e. all those born in 2005, can use their KulturPass for four events in this year's "Culture in the Tent 2023" series of events. "After the end of the event, we then take stock to see how well the 18-year-olds have accepted or used the KulturPass," explains Birgit Reiprich, head of the Burghausen cultural office. Burghausen's First Mayor Florian Schneider welcomes the offer from the federal government: "In this way, young people can be enthusiastic about local culture and the cultural workers also benefit from it".
Registration via online identification procedure
The KulturPass offer applies to everyone who lives in Germany and celebrates their 2023th birthday in 18. All you have to do is download the KulturPass app and register. The registration of the respective interested party is checked using an online identification process. If it is successful, the interested party is entitled to a budget of 200 euros, which they can use for all KulturPass offers. 18-year-olds can use the app to reserve a ticket for the desired event and then pick it up on site.
