The city of Burghausen has consistently committed itself to the protection of plant and animal diversity and their habitats. To do this, she wants to plan as space-saving as possible and approach municipal and spatial development in a future-oriented manner.

In order to preserve or rebuild natural resources and biological diversity, the city pays great attention to using buildings flexibly and using sustainable materials for buildings. She wants to proceed as economically, ecologically and socially as possible.

For the city of Burghausen, this also includes a lot of greenery in the city, the protection of drinking water and the expansion of organic agriculture.

"We can achieve a great deal if we think sustainably, take efficient measures, consistently preserve living spaces and save space."
