General Information

The Burghausen city tax office administers all municipal taxes such as trade tax, property tax and dog tax.

land tax
The city sets the property tax after the appraisal value and the property tax amount have been determined by the responsible Burghausen tax office. The assessment rate for property tax A and property tax B is 300 percent each.

A quarter of the annual amount of property tax is usually due on

• 15.02.
• 15.05.
• 15.08.
• 15.11.

You can also submit an application for annual payment by July 01.07st. of the current year. The application deadline is September 30.09th. of the previous year.

trade tax

The tax base (trade tax amount) is determined by the responsible tax office.
The trade tax to be paid is levied by the responsible municipality or city. The respective municipality or city applies its assessment rate to the tax amount and thus determines the trade tax to be determined. The assessment rate of the city of Burghausen is currently 350 percent.

Dog tax
Owners of dogs that are more than four months old must register their animal with the city immediately. In certain cases, the Burghauser city tax office can grant a tax exemption or tax reduction upon presentation of appropriate evidence.
De-registration must be initiated immediately if the dog has been sold, run away and died or if the dog owner has moved out of town.
The dog tax for the period from January 01st to December 31st is:

• 35 euros for each first dog
• 70 euros for each additional dog
• 400 euros for dogs that are listed in the ordinance on dogs with increased aggressiveness and dangerousness.

The dog tax is due for the first time one month after the notification of the tax assessment. Until a new tax assessment is announced, the tax is due on April 01.04st. of each year without further request for the following years.
