Top-class concert in honor of Siggi Loch - music label owner donates valuable sculpture by Alf Lechner to the city of Burghausen

It has been in place in front of the Evangelical Peace Church at the entrance to the castle since 2019: the sculpture “Anlehnung I” by Alf Lechner. The artist, who died in 2019, is still considered one of the most important German steel sculptors. “Leaning I” consists of two massive steel bodies that lean against each other, stabilize themselves and thus form a new whole. The massive steel sculpture, which weighs more than 50 tons, was designed by the renowned sculptor Alf Lechner in 2003 for the music publisher couple Siggi and Sissy Loch. Its shape was inspired by the hand movement when conducting three-quarter time as well as the shape of the letter “A” in ACT, Siggi Loch's jazz music label.

Since September 2019, the Loch couple has loaned the sculpture to the city of Burghausen. Some time ago Siggi Loch donated the unique sculpture to the city. As a thank you for this generous gesture, the city of Burghausen is organizing a first-class concert in the Evangelical Peace Church in Burghausen on April 30, 2024: Jakob Manz and Johanna Summer will perform as a duo.

The saxophonist and the pianist are among the most interesting and highly regarded discoveries in young German jazz in recent years. The two musicians have known and appreciated each other since their time together in the talent factory of the Federal Youth Jazz Orchestra. Almost at the same time, in 2020, Jakob Manz and Johanna Summer became part of Siggi Loch's ACT label family. The two have already appeared on stage together at exclusive events. This constellation creates a special magic and freedom in interaction that can only be created by two people. Renowned music experts see both musicians as the future greats of their genre.

Advance sales for the concert in honor of Siggi Loch in the Friedenskirche start on March 5, 2024. Tickets are available at the Bürgerhaus, at Burghauser Touristik, at all Reservix advance booking offices and at www.reservix.de. Further details about the event can be found in the city of Burghausen's events calendar www.burghausen.de/Events Calendar.
