Barge rides on the Salzach
The barges are replicas of medieval "platten" – salt barges – that were used to transport this "white gold" from Hallein down the Salzach River.
Experience an unforgettable barge ride through the romantic Salzach Valley. Let the untouched nature inspire you and enjoy the native feel of this unique river landscape.
The ride takes you gently past forests, meadows, churches and mills. Relaxing and comfortable – a barge ride is always an experience and is ideal for company, club or tour group outings.
Special highlights are the musical barges such as the jazz morning pint or the traditional Bavarian music barges, which are available either on request or for selected dates as a supplement to the public boats.
Barges with skippers in traditional costume can be arranged on request for weddings, birthdays or other events.
